এক ছিল রঙিন এক দেশ—নামের ছিল “সবজিপুর”। সেখানে রাজত্ব করতো বাদশাহ আপেল আর রানী গাজর। রাজ্যের প্রতিটি বাসিন্দা ছিল সুস্থ-সবল, কারণ তারা সবসময় তাজা ফল-মূল আর সবজি খেতো। রাজ্যের প্রতিটি দিন ছিল রঙে ভরা—লাল টমেটো হাসতো, সবুজ শশা নাচতো, আর হলুদ গাজর গাইতো গান!

একদিন সবজিপুরে এল নতুন অতিথি—সবুজ আপেল। সে ছিল একটু লাজুক কিন্তু খুবই স্বাস্থ্যবান। সবাই তাকে দেখে অবাক, কারণ এত সুন্দর চকচকে আপেল আগে কেউ দেখেনি। রানী গাজর খুব খুশি হয়ে বললেন, “তুমি আমাদের রাজ্যে এসেছো, তুমি হবে আমাদের নতুন উৎসবের অতিথি!”

অতিথি আপেল রাজ্যে ঘুরে ঘুরে দেখে সবজি আর ফলের মহোৎসব চলছে। কেউ কেউ হেসে খেলছে, কেউ আবার রান্না করছে। পাকা টমেটো বললো, “আজ রাতে হবে বিশাল সবজি পার্টি, তুমি আসবেই কিন্তু!” আপেল লজ্জা পেয়ে বললো, “অবশ্যই আসবো, তবে আমি নাচতে পারি না।” তখন কাকু শসা বলে উঠলো, “কোন চিন্তা নেই, আমি তোমাকে শেখাবো।”

রাত নামলো। আকাশে চাঁদ উঠলো। সবজিরা সবাই একত্র হলো। পেঁয়াজ আর রসুন বাজনা ধরলো, ক্যাপসিকাম দিল আলো। গাজর আর আপেল মিলে করলো স্লো ডান্স, আর শশা করলো স্টেপ বাই স্টেপ নাচ। রাজ্যের সবচেয়ে সুন্দর দৃশ্য ছিল সেটা।


হঠাৎ একটা ছোট বাচ্চা রাজ্যের দিকে এগিয়ে এলো। সে বললো, “এইসব সবজি তো আমি খেতে চাই না, মা বলে খাও, কিন্তু মন চায় না।” বাদশাহ আপেল এগিয়ে এসে হেসে বললেন, “তুমি জানো? আমরা শুধু রঙিন না, আমরা তোমার শরীরের বন্ধু। খেলে তুমি শক্তিশালী হবে, খেলা-ধুলা করতে পারবে ভালোভাবে!”

ছেলেটা একটু ভেবে বললো, “তাহলে আমি তোমাদের নিয়ে একটা স্যান্ডউইচ বানাবো!” তখনই রান্নার উৎসব শুরু হলো। টমেটো, শসা, গাজর আর আপেল সবাই একসাথে গিয়ে সুন্দর এক স্বাস্থ্যকর স্যান্ডউইচ বানালো। শিশুটি খেয়ে খুশি হয়ে বললো, “আহা! এত মজা আগে বুঝিনি!”

এভাবে সবজিপুরের বাসিন্দারা একদিনে শুধু একটা পার্টিই করলো না, বরং এক শিশুর মনও জয় করলো। এখন সে রোজ সকালে বলে, “মা, আমার গাজর দাও, টমেটো দাও, আর একটা বড়সড় আপেল!”

এভাবেই সবজিপুর থেকে ছড়িয়ে পড়লো স্বাস্থ্য, হাসি আর রঙের জাদু সারা পৃথিবীতে।
